STEAM Story Time: Bird Beaks Lab
Melina from MRBO will be at the library to run the Bird Beak Lab. Here’s how it will work: children will use different tools as “beaks” (for example, chopsticks and tweezers) to collect a variety of “food sources” like pasta, seeds, and peas. As they experiment, children discover which beak is most effective for each food type.
This engaging, hands-on activity offers a fun way to explore competition between species while learning about natural selection and animal adaptations.
