Overdues & Fines

The Marshall Public Library has a fine free policy. We do not charge overdue fees but we do ask our patrons to be responsible borrowers and return books by the due date. While we don’t charge overdue fees if a book becomes three weeks overdue it will then be considered lost and the patron’s account will be billed for the full price of the book. If the book is returned after it is considered lost the bill will be removed from the patron’s account and a $2.00 processing fee will be due.

What should I do if the library doesn’t have the item that I am looking for?

If we don’t own an item that you would like to check out you can request the book through Missouri Evergreen. This can be done by logging into your library account or by requesting a staff member to place a hold for you. If the item is unavailable through Missouri Evergreen you may fill out a purchase request form at the front desk.
