Library to be Closed May 9th for Truman Day

๐ The Marshall Public Library will be closed on Friday, May 9 in honor of Truman Day, a Missouri state holiday celebrating the life and legacy of President Harry S. Truman. Born on May 8, 1884, in Lamar, Missouri, Truman rose from humble beginnings to lead the nation through World War II and the early Cold War. He is remembered for his decisive leadership, founding of NATO, and commitment to public service. Each year, Truman Day is marked with ceremonies, educational events, and tributes across the state. We hope you’ll take a moment to reflect on the impact of Missouriโs only U.S. President.
