The Dino-Bird Connection (7/9)

Join us this Thursday 5:30 PM at the library for a special presentation by Melina Matheny from the Missouri River Bird Observatory.

Travel back to the age of dinosaurs with a fun story that brings the prehistoric world to life! Afterwards, we’ll become paleontologists at our hands-on Discovery Stations, where we’ll examine fossils, feathers, and other clues to discover how dinosaurs gradually evolved into the birds we see today.

Can we spot the dinosaur hidden inside a modern bird? We’ll put our new knowledge to the test by creating our own dinosaur-to-bird transformation, adding the features needed to help our dinosaurs take flight!

STEAM Story Times are free to attend and open to children of all ages and their families. STEAM stands for Science, Tech, Engineering, Art, and Math. Our goal is to promote literacy, critical thinking, creativity and teamwork.

Our weekly STEAM based story times have been gaining popularity among kids and parents. Along with a book, children enjoy a fun hands-on activity using simple materials. Whether it be experimenting with magnetic slime, flying rocket balloons, or building bubble forts, kids create memorable experiences.
