adult services

We have something to interest everyone! In addition to books to read or listen to, movies to watch, music to enjoy, book discussion groups to join, the library endeavors to provide a variety of programming and events of interest to adults. Check out the calendar on the home page. If genealogy research is a special interest, the library has an excellent genealogy department. Volunteering at the library offers you the opportunity to participate in a valuable service to our community while meeting new and interesting people. Our Homebound Services are available as an either short-term or long-term program.

Book Clubs

Book Clubs

Our book clubs meet a variety of interests. All
you have to do is pick up your book at the library, and then come to the meeting ready to share in
lively discussions. Call the library for more information and the monthly book selection; 886-3391

The Lit Wits Book Club meets the third
Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the   Library's Meeting Room.

The Laughter@Lunch Book Club meets the second Wedneday of each month at 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Library's Meeting Room.

Volunteer Opportunities

Who is a volunteer? Volunteers are community members who want to help because they love the library, or want to give something back to the community, or for no special reason other than it makes them feel good!

Volunteers acquire new skills, meet interesting people who love books and experience the satisfaction of sharing your talents with others while enriching and extending the quality of services at MPL. They may help paid staff with children programming and Summer Reading, straightening shelves, filing, assist in the genealogy room and other tasks as assigned by the library director.

If this sounds like something you would enjoy, you are welcome to download our volunteer application or pick one up at the library. We will do our best to find a job that fits your skills and interests. Training is provided.
